In 2012, the next President and Congressional members will be selected to lead our country. In the midst of various controversial issues that loom affecting the minorities in this country, it is as important as ever to be actively involved in these upcoming elections.

Get All of the Voter's Rights Information You Need at the Touch of a Button!

NBLSA is getting our members ready and mobilized for the challenges that many members of our communities will face when they go to the ballot box this election cycle. We have joined with the Election Protection Coalition to give our members the information we need to be effective advocates through a FREE DOWNLOADABLE APP. (Compatible with all smartphones).

The FREE DOWNLOADABLE APP will:

• Verify registration
• Register voters
• Look up polling locations
• Review key voting rules and regulations by state

Chapter Voter Awareness Programs

Chapter leaders are encouraged to host local voter awareness events. In order to support our chapters, NBLSA has prepared a 2012 Election Packet, Chapter Guide to Voter Rights and a Voter Rights Presentation.

Chapter Spotlight:

In an effort to acknowledge the enormous impact that our chapters are having this election cycle, NBLSA will be spotlighting chapters, online and in our national blast, that successfully host voter awareness programs. We encourage chapters to take photos and provide us with the details of their event on the Program Follow Up Form.

Chapter of The Year:

Voter awareness programs hosted by local chapters will factor into their Chapter of the Year scoring rubric. Chapters can earn up to 15 points towards the "Sociopolitical Awareness" section of their Chapter of the Year score.
