Education & Career Development![]() National Director of Education and Career Development Programs and Academic Retreat InformationProfessional Development Podcasts This year, NBLSA will leverage technology to deliver quality professional guidance to all members. Beginning in August, members will have an opportunity to download podcasts from the NBLSA website featuring hiring attorneys, legal diversity professionals, and career services representatives. Discussion topics will include job search advice, time management, and networking. Our E-Development Podcasting Series will feature new recordings each month from August 2010 - March 2011. To access our podcasts, please click here. E-Career Consultant NBLSA is pleased to announce "My E-Consultant" a joint partnership with the National Bar Association (NBA). The NBA is the largest and oldest professional organization for African-American attorneys and judges. Beginning in September, a panel of NBA attorneys will provide insight into a practice area and answer your questions about the job search process. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with a prospective mentor. Academic Retreats Regional Academic Retreats provide academic support for NBLSA members. Retreats are held in each region to provide members with tips on how to maximize your law school experience. Please check the regional section of this guide for more information on the academic retreat in your area. Regional Job FairsAlthough we face an uncertain economic climate, NBLSA's participating employers remain committed to hiring diverse candidates. NBLSA's regional job fair program is an important tool in members' job search efforts. In order to attend a regional job fair, dues-paying NBLSA members must first register on Symplicity, NBLSA's online job bank and web-based recruiting system.
