Message from the MWBLSA Chair Midwest Regional Chair Greetings! My name is Sir M.V. Williams, and I have the distinct honor of serving as the Midwest Region Chair of the National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA) for the 2010-2011 school year. I am very excited about serving our region in this capacity and working with all of you. As Regional Chair, my primary focus will be on continuing to improve communications between the national board and the local chapters housed within the Midwest region. Our national and regional leadership teams have collaborated to develop SMART goals and phenomenal programming initiatives which will EMPOWER our community as well as the membership. My goal is to ensure that local chapters are aware of and have the support they need to fully participate in that programming. An additional focus in the coming year will be the successful execution of our constitutionally mandated regional programming, including the Recruitment Conference, Academic Retreat, and the Regional Convention. It is through these key programs that we deliver several of the benefits that make NBLSA one of the largest and most successful student organizations in the country. Therefore, my regional leadership team and I will strive to see every chapter within MWBLSA represented at each of these important events. I sincerely hope that each of you will take time out to carefully review the various initiatives and programming NBLSA has planned for the coming year. The benefits of membership are amazing, and I strongly encourage each of you to join so that you do not miss out on all of the networking, professional development, and leadership opportunities NBLSA has to offer.
