Greetings NEBLSA!

It is truly an honor for me to serve as your Regional Chair for the 2010 - 2011 year. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to serve on the 2009 - 2010 Executive Board as the Connecticut Sub-Regional Director. During the last term, the executive board worked incessantly and extremely hard on your behalf. As a result, the Northeast received the much-coveted Region of the Year Award during our National Convention held in Cambridge, MA in March 2010. This year is no exception. The executive board consists of many talented members who are already working hard to ensure that you receive the many benefits exclusive to NBLSA members.

NBLSA was founded in the Northeast region in 1968 at New York University School of Law. Forty-two years later, NEBLSA supports 33 chapters and more than 1,000 members. Former NEBLSA members include countless esteemed Attorneys, successful Executives, General Counsels, Senators, Congressmen, Supreme Court Justices, Attorney Generals, and a President of the United States. Accordingly, this year NEBLSA will work under the theme "Building on Excellence." In doing so, we will also further NBLSA's theme, "A Legacy of Empowerment."

Count on NEBLSA to host events and programming that will bring the membership together through networking opportunities, professional development, and academic development. We will kick the year off August 19-20, 2010 with the NEBLSA Leadership Retreat for Chapter Leaders followed by the NEBLSA Job Fair at the Sheraton Lincoln Harbor Hotel in Weehawken, NJ, and ending with a social event to bring together all NBLSA members in the NYC area. We will continue the year with alumni receptions, CBC weekend, networking events, community service events, advocacy events, mentoring programs, many sub-region specific events, and the annual regional convention, which will take place in Connecticut on January 26-30, 2011.

One of the ways in which we will keep members updated this year is through our website at www.nblsa.org/neblsa. On our website you will find important information such as a link to the Members Google Group, which will contain additional NEBLSA-related information, event specific information, and contact information for the entire NEBLSA executive board. Please be sure to check our website throughout the year to stay informed.

If at any point you have suggestions, questions, and/or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at northeast@nblsa.org .

Thank you for allowing me to serve as your 2010 - 2011 Regional Chair. I look forward to meeting each and every one of you. I hope to see you at many, if not all, NEBLSA events this year.
Sincerely Yours,
